The original Calvert silhouetted head logo was created.

Calvert celebrates its Centennial, having grown to 400 students.
Virgil M. Hillyer becomes first Head Master.
2001
The Home Instruction Department becomes Calvert Education Services.
1897
Boys’ and Girls’ Primary School is inaugurated with fifteen children. Kindergarten and First Grade held above Croft and Conlyn’s drug store.
1903
Ten boys and one girl make up the first graduating class; they performed the first play, the trial scene from The Merchant of Venice.
1924
Calvert School moves to Tuscany Road.
1930
Calvert introduces interscholastic organized athletics.
Calvert’s new mascot, Cecilius the Mighty Bee, is introduced, a nod to Hillyer’s original designs and characters. Tennis and Ice Hockey are offered at Calvert, along with football, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, cross country, track and field, basketball, lacrosse, and baseball.
1933
A new teaching tool is published.
1930s
Calvert School and the United States survive the Depression.
2000
Board approves a plan to expand Calvert from Sixth Grade to Eighth Grade.
2003
The Francis J. Carey ’ 38 Middle School opens its doors for Fifth through Eighth Grades.
2004
First graduating Middle School class. Andrew D. Martire ’83 becomes sixth Head Master.
2009
Calvert’s first squash team is formed. High School first choice placement rates hit 90%.
2013
Calvert School and the United States survive the Depression.
2016
Addition of the Lyceum Learning Center to the Middle School. First Middle School Musical, Oklahoma!. Calvert’s enrollment grows to more than 600 boys and girls.
2018
Calvert acquires property for the new Field House. Newly-launched Institute for Leadership & Purpose hosts 180 students from across Baltimore for the first-ever Middle Grades Partnership Leadership Summit.
2019
92% of Calvert Middle Schoolers participate in after-school sports, comprising nearly 30 different teams.
2022
Calvert celebrates its 125th anniversary.
